BBC: Blair to Set Timetable for U.K. Withdrawal
British Prime Minister Tony Blair, according to the BBC, is set to announce a timetable for withdrawal of all U.K. forces, now totaling 7,000, from Iraq.
About five weeks ago, President George W. Bush addressed the nation with his decision to escalate U.S. troop levels by 21,500 in two key areas, Al Anbar province and Baghdad. Conservative blogger Allahpundit has a lot of links on the matter and is the only reason to link to his site.
Oliver Willis asks “guess who gets left holding the bag”? PoliBlog author Dr. Steven Taylor answers that upon the withdrawal of British forces, Iraq “remains wholly a U.S. problem.”
