It is New Year’s Eve here in D.C. and while much of the globe has rung in 2008, we’re coming up on three hours away.

Happy holidays to all. Among those sharing in the holiday spirit: Kevin Drum, Joe Gandelman of The Moderate Voice, Matthew Yglesias, the women behind Vivir Latino, and the professors behind Immigration Prof Blog.
No matter which holiday you’re celebrating (or already celebrated), enjoy.

Here’s an old one from the archives: Saturday Night Live, Christmas and claymation.

Forget there being “such a clatter” and “springing from the bed to see what was the matter” late on Christmas Eve.
Now you can’t trick your children into going to bed early anymore because NORAD bugged Santa’s sleigh to track his every move. As of this post, Santa is somewhere over Paris, France.

The Nation and the Drum Major Institute launched a joint website called, MayorTV. Mayors from around the country speak to the 2008 presidential candidates, asking them to “start talking about cities.” It is another interesting way the internet and politics are being fused together in this election cycle.

I made the cross-country trek from the San Francisco Bay Area to Washington, D.C. to start my new gig at the DNC. Using just my camera phone, I took a few pictures and will be sure to add more as time goes on.
