Jimmy Fallon Named Late Night Successor

NBC recently announced that Saturday Night Live alum Jimmy Fallon will take over Late Night when fellow SNL alum Conan O’Brien departs in June 2009 for The Tonight Show.

In the New York Times article, the network acknowledged that current Tonight Show host Jay Leno will likely depart NBC in 2010. Also in the article is the fact that Jay Leno is getting ripped off:

The show will add an executive producer soon and a writing staff. Then Mr. Fallon will tape some tryout shows, Mr. Michaels said. Mr. Fallon said: “I talked to Jay Leno. He said, ‘Just give them content. Get good writers. All my money is going to writers.’” [emphasis added]
