Nationally Ranked Arizona Wildcats?
It could happen.
Ted Miller writes on the ESPN PAC-10 blog that if the Arizona Wildcats handily defeat New Mexico in Albuquerque this afternoon, they may find themselves with a top 25 ranking on Sunday.
8. Your nationally ranked Arizona Wildcats: If Arizona dispatches New Mexico with prejudice, as it should, then the Wildcats will start to win over skeptical believers. They already are getting Top 25 votes, which landed them 38th in this week’s AP poll. Big number Saturday could have them sniffing the Top 25.
Miller writes that the Wildcats “should … dispatch New Mexico with prejudice” and could end up in the top 25 as a result. New Mexico quarterback Donovan Porterie may have experienced problems in dropping their first two games but as last season showed college football fans, “should” often times does not play out as it “should.” (You do not have to remind California.)
Arizona meets New Mexico at 5PM Albuquerque time.
