Less than three weeks from Election Day, conservatives are getting increasingly desperate.

• A Republican consultant e-mailed Ben Smith at the Politico about a focus group of Reagan Democrats in the Midwest with a hard-hitting television spot against Senator Barack Obama (D-Illinois) for a 527, and while the message worked, the respondents said they would vote for Barack Obama anyway.
• Conservative bloggers jumped on an obviously phony phone “interview” with Michelle Obama because it confirmed their suspicions about everything from Senator Obama’s citizenship, religion, et al. It was completely fake but they bought it anyway.
• One Republican commenter at Townhall thought they uncovered an “audacity” moment at a recent Obama rally in Ohio:
