YearlyKos Takeaway: A Sense of Community

I was fortunate enough to make it to Chicago for the YearlyKos Convention this past weekend. It was an experience that I will never forget. I was able to meet really interesting people doing amazing things from around the country.

The biggest takeaway for me was connecting with several Latino bloggers and activists. It was the first time in a long time, if ever, that I felt a sense of community with my brown brothers and sisters.

I am hoping to expand our small caucus between now and next year’s Netroots National Conference — a name change to reflect the movement — wherever it may be. There is plenty of work to be done to bridge the disconnect between the Latino blogosphere — los blogueros — and the larger blogosphere.
